So it came to pass that I found myself sitting in my studio thumbing through the pages of a sketchbook from 10 years ago. Looking at the drawings I could see fundamental qualities that had stayed with me as well as vast differences, both stylistically and subject matter-wise, from the work that I’m making now. It’s interesting to see what sticks with you over the course of a decade, as well as how you evolve as an artist. I can definitely see that though my art has come a long way in the last ten years, I am still speaking with the same voice. I think I want to go back and revisit some of these pieces.
